Vovk (“wolf” in Ukrainian) is a coming-of-age queer femme wolf tale that follows Sasha, a diasporic Ukrainian girl-womxn, as she crosses the violence of becoming a modern witch. While in recovery from writer’s block at a retreat, Sasha journeys toward herself with guidance from matrilineal ancestors and a newly befriended elder.
Vovk was originally developed in the 2015-2016 Watah Theatre Transdisciplinary Artist Residency Program under the mentorship and dramaturgy of d'bi.young anitafrika.
A work-in-progress one-woman play.
